The Patriots signed the best defensive player on the market on Friday.  Thomas will give Coach Belichick a great piece of the puzzle on his defense as Thomas can play all over the field.  He played in 16 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season and he made 83 tackles, had 11 sacks, 1 interception, defensed 6 passes and recovered a fumble for a TD.  He has played in 96 career games and he has made 371 tackles, 38.5 sacks, 6 interceptions, defensed 31 passes, forced 13 fumbles and recovered 6 fumbles (3 of which he returned for TDs)!  Thomas is a dominant force on the defense that makes game changing plays.  Thomas couldn’t have went to a better team.

The Patriots have re-signed 27 year old Bill Yates to a 3 year, $2.1 million dollar contract.  Yates played in only 4 games last season and started 3 of them.  Over his career, Yates has played in 11 games but only has the 3 starts from last season.  Yates will provide depth along the whole O-Line as he can play anywhere.
