5. (171) Clint Oldenburg, OT
The Patriots wanted to get some depth for the offensive line and that’s why they chose Clint Oldenburg in the Draft. Coach Belichick likes to get smart players that are willing to learn and Oldenburg fits that mold as his dad was a football coach. He started at left tackle his last three seasons in college but he projects more as a guard in the pros. Oldenburg stands at 6′5″, 298 pounds so he likely will be able to add some bulk to his frame as he gets acclimated to the NFL. Look for him to likely be a backup in the NFL. He played in 47 games at Colorado State and started 34 of them. He was worth a 5th round pick.
