New England Patriots 48, Dallas Cowboys 27
The Patriots put on a clinic on how to stop a good offense in this game……you just don’t let them have the ball. The Patriots controlled the football for 38:15 of this football game. Don’t get me wrong…the Cowboys did put up a fight for a while before their defense got tired and that’s not a good thing vs. the Patriots. Tom Brady was awesome again against the Cowboys as he completed 31 of 46 passes for 388 yards with 5 TDs and 0 INTs! Sammy Morris started the game at running back but he didn’t play well before leaving the game with a chest injury. He carried the ball 10 times for 14 yards (1.4 ypc). Kevin Faulk replaced Morris and he did a decent job with 13 carries for 50 yards (3.8 ypc) and 3 catches for 24 yards (8.0 avg). Kyle Eckel even got 3 carries for 6 yards (2.0 ypc) and he scored a TD in the 4th quarter. Donte’ Stallworth was outstanding as he caught 7 passes for 136 yards (19.4 avg) with a TD grab. Wes Welker was also great as he caught 11 passes for 124 yards (11.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs. Randy Moss also got his numbers as he caught 6 passes for 59 yards (9.8 avg) with a TD. The Patriots finished up with 75 yards rushing on 29 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 31 of 46 passes for 373 yards.
Tedy Bruschi led the way for the Pats defense with 6 tackles. The Cowboys rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries (6.5 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 29 passes for 186 yards.
