The New England Patriots activate WR Troy Brown

Blogged under Front Page, Big Pats News, General by admin on Saturday 8 December 2007 at 9:48 am

Just what Tom Brady needs….another weapon.  But that’s what he got when the Patriots activated veteran playmaker Troy Brown.  Brown is the ultimate team player as he has no problem filling whatever role the Patriots need as he has played on special teams and defense as well as being a solid WR.  Brown has played in 191 games in his NFL career and he has caught 557 passes for 6,366 yards (11.4 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  Look for Brown to make some big plays the rest of the season to help the Patriots achieve their goal…..another Super Bowl Championship.

The New England Patriots lose LB Rosevelt Colvin for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Pats News, Injury Reports, General by admin on Saturday 8 December 2007 at 9:45 am

The Patriots have lost linebacker Rosevelt Colvin for the season with a foot injury.  Colvin played in 11 games this season for the Patriots and he had 27 tackles, 4 sacks, intercepted a pass, forced three fumbles and defensed two passes.  He also scored a TD on defense.  Junior Seau will pick up more playing time due to this injury and that’s not a bad thing as Seau has plenty left in the tank.  Seau has played in 12 games for the Patriots so far this season and he has made 48 tackles, has a sack, 3 interceptions and he has defended three passes.

New England Patriots 27, Baltimore Ravens 24

Blogged under Game Recaps, Bloglockers, Front Page, General by admin on Tuesday 4 December 2007 at 10:38 am

The Patriots probably should have lost their first game last night but Tom Brady led them on a TD drive that ended with 44 seconds left in the game when Jabar Gaffney caught his only pass of the game….an 8-yard TD.  Tom Brady looked mortal last night as he completed 18 of 38 passes for 257 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 14 yards (7.0 ypc).  Laurence Maroney only rushed for 44 yards on 13 carries (3.4 ypc) but he also caught 2 passes for 79 yards (39.5 avg).  Kevin Faulk also had a decent game as he carried the ball 7 times for 33 yards (4.7 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 18 yards (9.0 avg).  Donte’ Stallworth (3 rec, 68 yards) and Randy Moss (4 rec, 34 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Patriots last night.  The Patriots finished up with 90 yards rushing on 24 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 38 passes for 236 yards.

The Patriots defense was led by Tedy Bruschi (12 tackles) and Rodney Harrison (7 tackles) last night in Baltimore.  The Ravens finished up with 166 yards rushing on 37 carries (4.5 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 23 passes for 210 yards.
