The New England Patriots sign Andrew Walter
The Patriots have signed 27-year old QB Andrew Walter. Walter played in 2 games last season for the Raiders and he completed 22 of 49 passes (44.9%) for 204 yards with 0 TD passes and 3 interceptions (31.3 QB Rating). He also carried the ball 5 times for 19 yards (3.8 ypc) last season. In his three year NFL career, Walter has played in 15 games in which he has completed 174 of 333 passes (52.3%) for 1,919 yards with 3 TD passes and 16 interceptions (52.6 QB Rating). He has also carried the ball 19 times for 49 yards (2.6 ypc) in his career. Walter played on some really awful Raiders’ football teams so he will be a much, much better football player for the Patriots. To make room on the roster for Walter the Patriots have released 25-year old QB Matt Gutierrez. Gutierrez played in 5 games in his career with the Patriots and he completed his only pass attempt for 15 yards. He also carried the ball 5 times for -13 yards (-2.6 ypc) but most of those were kneel downs. The Patriots improved the QB depth chart with this move.
