The over/under for New England Patriots’ wins in 2011 is 11.5. The Patriots won 14 games last year and they appear to have added more talent to the roster in the off-season. With that in mind, I would bet the over if pressed to make a bet one way or the other on the Patriots in 2011. It’s just hard to bet against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick on a bet like this one.
The Patriots won 10 games last season and they suffered through a lot of key injuries. They appear to be on the right track for the 2010 season and with Tom Brady all things are possible. I would take the over with the Patriots in 2010 as I think they are still the team to beat in the AFC East. They are 13-1 to win the Super Bowl and that is another bet worth making.
I have a hunch that the Patriots are going to have some issues this season with age and durability. Tom Brady has been banged up for quite a while now and the defense is getting old in places. Plus, the secondary could be a huge weakness for the Patriots this season. Take the under and remember that I told you so. But, they will still have a good football team in 2008.
This could be the best version of the Patriots to date so I would bet on the over. By doing so I think the Patriots will win at least 12 games and after looking at the schedule I think they will have no problem winning that many games as long as Tom Brady stays healthy. He will have his best receiving corps ever to throw to and 2nd year running back Laurence Maroney is ready to explode. Look for the Patriots defense to be especially nasty this season. Take the over and watch the wins roll in.
